// Fitting. Classy and safe
Oh no…! It is snowing two days in a row now and Berlin’s streets are covered in white. Don’t get me wrong, it is not that I don’t like snow. I love it, the sleigh riding, snowmen and the solemn silence that comes with it. But what to wear on my feet these days, especially when invited to a formal dinner party. Since Berlin Mitte is not made for people with cars, due to restricted parking spaces, I have to use public transport or walk to the party destination. My favourite pairs of high heels are too risky to wear on the way to the event and with all that slushy snow I will definitely ruin them.
So, the question is: Is changing shoes shortly before entering the dinner place a no-go or a must? How do you handle these situations? Are you carrying around a second pair of shoes or do you always have a driver at hand who is willing to give you a ride? And what to do with the wet boots after changing into the party shoes? A plastic bag in the corner of the host’s wardrobe?
For occasions like these I always wish I had a pair of shoes who can serve both, look stunning to an evening outfit and give me comfort walking on cobbled streets covered in snow. I was searching the web and started looking for that perfect pair and here is a selection of what I found. As you can see for the shoes I go with dark colours, no suede and an evening outfit for me does not have to be a gala dress.
