30 degrees above zero + downpours and 90% humidity = Berlin Fashion Week

The last week in Berlin has been “crazy” in many respects – the incredible 7:1 victory of the German team over Brazil during the Soccer World Cup not even taken into account. With Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week going on, the streets were not only flooded by the recurring rain but a colourful crowd of editors, models, designers, photographers, bloggers and buyers.

Due to public viewing at Brandenburg Gate, this season the runway shows took place in… well, let’s say not-so-photogenic-Wedding at the Erika-Heß-Eisstadion (EHE). The sceptics were numerous but with ice cream bars, specially set up palm trees and the obligatory red carpet the organizer tried their best, so one could forget about the sad looking trailer park next door. Rumour has it, that EHE might become the new steady summer location for the MBFWB.

But even grey-washed-concrete-Wedding did not negate the fact, that some of what was presented inside the Erika-Heß-Eistadion was all the more picture-perfect. And since more and more designers chose to show offsite (Berlin is full of incredible locations), there were plenty of opportunities for the complainer to also capture beautiful fashion in equally stunning surroundings.
